...Vows for Cate...

One of our clients just so happened to be a Mother of the Groom. We addressed the rehearsal dinner envelopes and place cards for her sons wedding that occurred this past weekend. Then she told us that her son had a special surprise up his sleeve for his bride. You see, the bride and groom both wrote their own vows for the ceremony. The groom was sweet enough to think ahead and have us write out his vows so that he could frame them and give them to his new bride shortly after their ceremony. We love that this piece will be hanging in the home of the couple for years to come!
a snippet of the groom's vows in the "pretty adorable" style.

...Severine...

Here at penned & pretty we frequently blog about our love of wrap around labels. We heart them. So when Severine told us that she was sending some our way to address for her, we were thrilled!
In case you were wondering, Severine made these little labels herself. They look awesome. We just made them a little prettier by addressing them and making sure they weren't blank!
In case you were wondering, Severine is from Switzerland, so our pens were able to experience a little taste of a foreign language. They liked it.
Thank you, Severine for sending your labels all the way over to us in the USA. We thoroughly enjoyed addressing them for you!

...Tegan...

When Tegan told us that the envelopes we would be addressing for her were yellow, our hearts skipped a beat. We thought that we would give you a little sneak peak at what will be arriving in her guests mailboxes in a few short weeks.
Her envelopes weren't made pretty only by our modern calligraphy. Teresa put in some serious work on these envelopes before we even got our little hands on them. Check out the return address that she gocco'd on the flap.
What you cannot see {due to the poor picture quality} is that Tegan inserted a black & white polka dot envelope liner into the inside of the envelope. We likey.
Tegan, we hope that you and your guests love the penned & pretty calligraphy that is coming your way!

...Laura Ann's Save the Dates...

We got a pretty little save the date in the mail yesterday and just had to share! It's the save the date for the wedding of Laura Ann from The Beginning of Forever!
The save the dates feature the couple's adorable engagement pictures which were taken by the lovely Angela Talley.
The save the dates were designed by the ever fabulous April of april foster events whom we know and love. She also created Laura Ann's absolutely perfect and gorgeous monogram that just screams sophistication and glamour.
We cannot wait to see the invitations.....and sneak a bite of the Groom's cake at the wedding!

...Little Owl...

Never before here at Penned & Pretty have we really featured all of the paper goods from one wedding. However, when we came across the posting of Ashley & Todd's wedding {by Jose Villa} on the ever-inspiring blog of Once Wed, we just knew we just had to share every last drop of paper goodness with you.
Let's start with a part of the invitation suite:

Everything was letterpressed {oh what a luxury!} but the invitations themselves were kept casual and asked the guest to "ESVP: Reply by e-mail". We love that the invitation {on the right} was not your standard 5x7 card stock! The invitation to the rehearsal dinner {bottom left} isn't like anything we've ever seen before!
The front of the programs feature the cutest little owl {we never thought we would hear ourselves say that!} that you will see carried throughout the day.

Don't you know that the couple's save the date {above} was well thought out and was a lovely peak as to the fun times {and gorgeous paper goods} to come!

We thought that we had seen our fair share of escort card displays before, but this is one for the books! An unfolding chalkboard easel listed the names of the guests next to a piece of card stock displaying a table number. Take a look at the lovely table decor. Do you see the little green owl sitting on the table next to the bucket holding the silverware? The "Southern Soul Food Feast" menu also acted like a place card with the adorable turquoise owl stating the name of the guest who was lucky enough to be a guest at this reception.

Wasn't everything about the paper goods at this wedding just lovely!? Thanks goes out to Once Wed for digging thru Jose Villa's archives to find this little gem. Just so you know, the invitation suite and lovely paper goods were designed by smoke proof press.

...Printable Press...

We came across the work of printable press through the lovely blog of $10,000 only.
"Printable Press was created as an alternative to expensive stationery, but also as an alternative to the totally-from-scratch, do-it-yourself approach. It is a way to have professionally designed invitations for those on a small budget. Just think of it as a way to have your cake but eat it too."

Printable press will design your invitations and e-mail them to you in pdf format for you to print yourself. Think about it, half professionally designed and half DIY. Sounds like a great compromise if you ask us!

...Escort Card Display...

There are many options when it comes to your escort cards. The essentials include some pretty calligraphy and a eye catching display. Of course, the lovely display is the hard part since we here at penned & pretty would love to provide the calligraphy!
We came across this escort card display over at one of our favorite blogs, the brides cafe. It would be quite perfect for any outdoor wedding.
A close up of the escort cards just goes to show that a little detail or color on a white escort card can really go a long way. Add some calligraphy {like our pretty adorable style} and your escorts will be the talk of the night at your reception! Well, at least until you make your grand entrance! photos via: beaux arts photographie

...Darling...

We found this save the date from darling dexter via elizabeth anne designs and fell in love not only with the chic design but also with the vibrant colors of mango teal and mocha that were paired together to make this announcement pop.
Don't you worry, there will be many more posts featuring the work of darling dexter to come!

...Crisp Green...

In honor of St. Patrick's Day we thought it would be appropriate to post a pretty invitation suite with the boldness of a crisp green. Isn't this just the perfect invitation to grace our blog today? Our pretty adorable style would look pretty amazing on the front of this invite, don't you think?!
View the shaped and buckled invitation here. Found via the simple song blog.
Happy St. Patrick's Day!

...Coaster...

We love it when brides & grooms get innovative with their save the dates/invitations/thank you cards. Here is a lovely idea:
Use your monogram, logo, or picture correlating with your theme and print it {or have it letterpressed, like this one}, along with your information, onto a coaster! We are quite the fans of this charming announcement!
Contact linda & harriett today to order yours! Oh, and while you're at it, send us one too! We promise not to spill on it!

...Yes...

We are loving the save the dates of not quite a bride from how sweet it is!
"he got down on one knee. she said yes."
These lovely save the dates were designed by Heather at we met in a bar. The bride's aunt used a golden ink pen to address the chocolate brown envelopes and they turned out quite adorable!

...Moo Cards...

While browsing through the blog entries on Paper + Cup Design blog, we came across this lovely little post for a save the date incorporating mini moo cards & bakers twine! It was love at first sight. If you haven't heard about mini moo cards, boy oh boy are you in for a treat today! mini moo cards are 1 inch x 3 inches and the front and back are totally customizable. This bride & groom chose various childhood pictures to adorn the front of their mini moo cards. The back of the card simply stated "kelly + terrell. tying the knot. october 11, 2008." The mini moo cards were then placed on the save the date card {picture up} and affixed to the card with a little bakers twine. The end result, as you can see from the first picture in this post, is quite adorable.

P.S. There are many other wedding-related uses for mini moo cards! Put your engagement pictures on them and place them at each place setting for a keepsake for your guests. Leave them outside your photo booth with the web address they can visit to see the photo booth {or wedding} pictures! Or, tie them to your favors as a little added personal touch!

...Tag It...

What first caught our eyes while browsing through the pictures from this wedding were pictures of the beautiful table settings. What we found were the most darling gifts/favors for guests that we have seen in quite a long time. The favor/gift to each guest was a personalized set of letterpress stationary {made by the bride herself!}. The stationary was set inside a lovely turquoise box tied with an orange ribbon and adorned with a tag displaying the name of the guest. Oh, and the favors also included a glass vial of Spanish Paprika that doubled as a place card holder! Wouldn't you just love to be a guest at this wedding!?
Let's just squeeze in one more little picture of the darling tags, shall we?the lovely paper goods of jennifer & christian found via: style me pretty

...Mason Jar Bride...

Jessica of mason jar bride recently posted a few lovely photos of the save the dates that she created for her upcoming October wedding. They are so charming, unique and so unexpectedly simple that we just had to show you all.
Each save the date was constructed out of cardboard, a little ribbon & lace and a LABEL! The back side of the save the date {not pictured} had a label with the recipients address along with the required postage stamp.
Thank you Jessica for sharing your lovely save the dates with us! You can read more about the construction of these save the dates here.

...Giddy Ink: Bachelorette Party Invitations...

We were perusing the new Giddy Ink website and our eyes landed on this beauty, which are undoubtedly the prettiest bachelorette party invitations we have ever seen: We love everything about this invitation! The feathers, the fishnet stockings and the glamour of it all. And go ahead and send it over to Penned & Pretty to have us fill in the blanks for you!

...Giddy Ink: Invitations...

I cannot remember how I came across Giddy Ink, but we have been eagerly awaiting the launch of their brand new website to share their work with all of you!
Below is my favorite invitation suite, "The Julie."

This save the date is just adorable. See the "US" popping out from August?! So clever.
The invitation suite as a whole is just darling. Soft and feminine and intricately tied together. Any bride would be more than giddy to mail these invitations out to her guests.
Here's just a little bit about what Giddy Ink is all about: "We at Giddy Ink are, well, giddy about design. Our backgrounds are in advertising and design and we have worked with the most elite marketers in the world. We think that that experience has made us smarter about the designs we create, starting with the pure essence of your event as the inspiration for our designs, and working relentlessly to transcend that to paper."

To Meg & the ladies at Giddy Ink, congratulations on your new website release! We look forward to working with you in the future!
